The Open Sea Foundation for Cultural and Educational Programs presents an art festival “With Love to Petipa”. Gala concerts involving world ballet stars took place in Moscow on November 14 and 15 and in St. Petersburg on November 16.

The Festival is a unique opportunity to see the choreography of world’s leading ballet performers. It was attended by lead dancers from Russia, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany and United Kingdom, presenting choreography masterpieces by Marius Petipa, August Bournonville, Asaf Messerer, Alexander Gorsky.

A special place in the Festival program was dedicated to Serge Lifar’s choreography – with fragments of his Suite in White, shown in Russia for the first time ever. Ingenious Russian choreographer Yury Grigorovich was presented by several scenes from Spartacus. Modern choreography was also given a place of honor in the kaleidoscope of choreographic masterpieces. Young Czech choreographer Yury Slipich debuted in Italian Pas De Deux set to Rossini’s music. All invited dancers took part in the Don Quixote ballet finale.

The program was directed by Yury Slipich, Prague National Theater.
