IV INTERNATIONAL GUITARIST COMPETITION AND FESTIVAL NAMED AFTER ALEKSANDER FRAUCHI Foundation "Open Sea" presents the prize to the winner of the IV International guitarists contest and festival named after Alexander Frauchi.
On 15-21 of November 2015 the IV International guitarists contest and festival named after Alexander Frauchi will take place. The contest has been held every two years since 2009 by the Foundation of the guitar art support named after A.K. Frauchi, with the help of the Russian Ministry of Culture on the basis of RAM Gnesin. The main goals and objectives of the contest and the festival are to promote and popularize the Russian guitar school founded by an outstanding teacher, and music art in general. In three rounds of the contest, participants will perform solo programs, which must include works from different epochs and styles, as well as works for guitar and orchestra. The winners and laureates will be awarded with diplomas, monetary prizes, gifts, as well as tours in Russia will be arranged for them. According to the results of the audience voting, one of the participants will receive the Audience Award. This year, the "Open Sea" Foundation for cultural and educational programs presents the prize to the winner of the contest in the amount of 500 000 rubles. In previously conducted contests, the prize-winners and laureates were the performers from Russia, Ukraine and Belorussia. For many guitarists, this contest-festival was a good career springboard for their career opportunities. The participants of the major international competitions held in Spain, Italy and the USA won prize places, which confirms the objectivity of refereeing of the Frauchi contest. In the entire history of the competition, many outstanding and legendary classical guitarists have taken part in it, some of them visited Russia for the first time: the legendary Brazilian duo Sergio brothers and Odaira Assad, Bosnian Azabagich D. and R. Dens French, Italian, A. Desiderio, Croatian Z. Dukic, M. Dylla Polish and many others. As a part of the upcoming festival concerts, master classes and round tables with participation of the winners and laureates of international competitions, the best representatives of the Russian school of guitar are scheduled: Guitar Quartet named after Frauchi, D. Illarionov, A. Dervoed, R. Mammadguliyev and others. Foreign virtuoso guitarists are invited to the festival, including world famous master of the flamenco guitar art Jose Antonio Rodriguez (Spain), classical guitarists P. Steidl (Czech Republic), R. Aussel (Argentina), President of the Guitar Foundation of America ( GFA) M. Masters. Famous Russian musicians and bands: Boris Andrianov (cello), Mikhail Simonyan (violin), Andrei Gorbachev (balalaika), Moscow Chamber Orchestra Musica Viva and others will also participate in the concert program.
