MUSICAL EXHIBITIONS | Renaissance Venice. Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese

The third lecture-concert of the Musical Exhibitions educational program organized by the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts with the support of the Open Sea Foundation - “Venice. La Serenissima” - will take place on July, 20. It will become a special musical background to the “Renaissance Venice. Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese. From Italian and Russian collections” exhibition, that is held at the museum at the present.
Guests of the concert will be able to hear various religious and secular music created by italian composers of the XVI–XVII centuries that are united by the theme of beautiful Venice, including the works by Claudio Monteverdi, Biagio Marini, Giovanni Gabrieli, Dario Castelli and others. Claudio Monteverdi was known as the official composer of the Venetian Republic and got “Maestro di Capella della Serenissima” title by the name of the Republic that means “the most serene” in Italian.
Performers: soloists of the “Intrada” vocal ensemble, Asya Grechischeva (lute, theorbo), Alexander Gulin (viola da gamba). Conductor - Ekaterina Antonenko.
The concert starts at 7 pm.
