24 FEB | 09:45:00 | 2015
The Open Sea Foundation supported opening night of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” opera in Tula and Kaluga featuring world’s leading opera singers in semi-stage format (a concert performance with elements of on-stage action and art design). The opera premiered in Tula on February 24, 2015, followed by Kaluga a day later. Both performances were a triumphant success!
Tatyana’s part was played by Veronica Gioeva, the winner of Big Opera show on the Culture TV channel. Brilliant Justina Gringyte, soloist of Royal Theaters in London, came on stage as Olga. Both singers are also invited lead singers at the State Academic Bolshoi Theater. Lead male roles were presented in an original interpretation by Leonid Bahtalin (Lenskiy) and Filipp Cherkasov (Onegin).
Also involved in the performances were Tula State Choir and Kaluga Youth Symphony Orchestra headed by Art Director Mikhail Simonyan; the performances were staged by Polina Berten, a young director from Moscow.
Nika-TV broadcast the performance live.
